We are pleased to share the winning artwork from our 9th Annual Student Art Exhibition. The theme was "Uniquely Me" and the winners were selected from over 100 participants from grades K-12 from the Nanuet Schools. The art was judged by more than 25 local artists, local sculptors, Nanuet teachers, alumni, and community representatives. Our reception and award ceremony was held on March 24th at the Palisades Center with over 200 attendees. Background music was provided by both Back to Rock (a local Nanuet business offering music lessons) and the Nanuet Senior High School Orchestra who played both pop and classical selections. Our congratulations and thanks to the Nanuet School administration, all the Nanuet Art teachers, and of course all the 100+ talented student artists who submitted their work for consideration.

![]() Great attendance at Palisades Center with Nanuet and Beyond, Inc. for the 9th Annual Art & Culture Exhibition in celebration of student artwork! This year's theme was "Uniquely Me." Over 100 pieces of Student art from the Nanuet Union Free School District grades K-12 were on display at the Palisades Center from March 10-March 24 at 19 different businesses throughout the Palisades Center. On the final day, all the art was brought to an exhibit area on the Palisade's first-floor atrium (opposite H&M) for an open reception. Almost all of the 100+ students were on hand with family, guardians, and friends to see the art on display. Snacks and water were available and background music was provided by Bach to Rock, a local Nanuet business providing music lessons to students of all ages. The Nanuet High School Orchestra under the direction of Melanie Sadoff offered a selection of both contemporary and classical music. Guest speakers included George Hoehmann, Clarkstown Town Supervisor, Dr. Kevin McCahill, Superintendent of the Nanuet Union Free School District, and Ms. Kodi Todd, Chair of the Nanuet Schools Art Department. One of the student winners was invited up to offer comments and encouragements to all the participants. The Town of Clarkstown had provided each participating student with a Certificate of Merit on behalf of Clarkstown recognizing their participation in the event. Twenty-Nine judges that included artists, sculptors, teachers, administrators, alumni and community volunteers selected Honorable Mention and First Place winners from each of the 4 schools (George W. MIller Elementary School (grades K-2); Highview Elementary (grades 3-4); A.MacArthur Barr Middle School (grades 5-8) and Nanuet Senior High School. An overall Best in Show was also selected. George Mollo, President of Nanuet and Beyond offered a brief overview of Nanuet and Beyond and noted the individuals, businesses, Palisades Center (especially Ms. Keri Cunningham, Marketing Director), Nanuet Union Free School District, Nanuet Art teachers, Nanuet Superintendent, Clarkstown Supervisor, Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, Nanuet HS Junior Chamber of Commerce and the volunteer Board of Nanuet and Beyond for working together to make this event a success. On a personal note, Mr. Mollo noted: "Each year I am impressed with the talent of our students which seems to improve year over year. This year’s art exhibition was no exception. I was especially impressed with each student’s interpretation of this year’s “Uniquely Me” theme. Once again our appreciation to the Nanuet School art teachers and most importantly the student artists as well." Mr. Mollo then presented "Certificates of Best Artist" and gift card awards to the Honorable Mention and First Place winners as well as Best in Show. The Nanuet Fall Festival was held Sunday, October 30 at Lake Nanuet Park from 11 AM to 4 PM. The event was free to the public and we had over 50 exhibitors.
We could not have asked for a more perfect weather day and approximately 5,000 local residents, friends and families took advantage of the festival. The event was organized and sponsored by the following local organizations: Nanuet Chamber of Commerce, Nanuet & Beyond, Nanuet Civic Association, Nanuet Jr Chamber, Nanuet-West Nyack Rotary, Nanuet Ambulance Corps, Nanuet Fire Department, Nanuet School District, Nanuet Library, Nanuet Little League, Town of Clarkstown, and Xtreme 4 Low Jeep Club. Activities for everyone included Pumpkin Decorating, Refreshments, Beer Truck, Face Painting, Music, Games, Prizes, Trunk or Treat, etc. Nanuet and Beyond supplied over 200 FREE pumpkins). The Xtreme 4 Low Jeep Club had over a dozen Jeeps decorated for Halloween and offered free "trunk or treats" for the kids. The event is held in coordination with the Nanuet Schools and the Palisades Center. The Nanuet Strings Orchestra provided entertainment at the event. This special event is held in partnership with the Nanuet School District’s Art Department. Approximately 100 works of art from students 1st grade thru 12 in the Nanuet Schools wereon display at 20 storefront windows throughout the Palisades Center from March 18 thru April 1. The theme for this year's contest was "Anything is Possible." The final 100 pieces were judged by local artists, sculptors, teachers and community citizens to determine the best works from the two elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school. Finally a "Best in Show" was selected. We wish to sincerely thank the Palisades Center for providing this great venue and opportunity for the students to display their art and draw attention to the Nanuet School District and the respective partnerships with Nanuet and Beyond as we work to achieve our mission of "enhancing the educational experience for all." The event culminated with a reception and award ceremony on Friday evening, April 1st from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM where all the art will be brought together in the East Court on Level One of the Palisades Center for display in one location and included an award presentation for the winners as outlined above. The event is always open to the public and Nanuet and Beyond suggested a $10 donation per family to help cover the costs associated with the event. Donations made to Nanuet and Beyond (www.nanuetandbeyond.org) go back to the community through programs like this and scholarships for graduating seniors from local high schools. Our Annual Paint & Sip Fundraiser was held at the Palisades Center, Raso Community Room, West Nyack on November 4, 2021. It was a great success and everyone had a wonderful time, creating thier art and meeting new friends while supporting Nanuet and Beyond's fundraising efforts.
More than 40 attended and had a fun time creating their artistic masterpieces. Raffles were held for more than 20 tricky-tray prizes and a special raffle was heldo for a laptop donated by Computuners of Nanuet. The artistic direction was provided by Julene Finley, Owner of Color Me Mine in the Palisades Center who also donated materials at a greatly reduced cost to us. We would also like to thank the Palisades Center fro porvisding us use of the Raso Community Room for our event.
James J Flynn, 63 years old, passed on August 29th, 2021.
The shadow Mayor of Nanuet, Jim served on a multitude of committees, political campaigns and fundraisers, all in the hope of bettering our community. Always the 'go to’ guy, he was willing to help anyone, anytime, in anyway he could. Donations in Jim's memory will be collected through Nanuet and Beyond below and shared among Meals on Wheels Rockland, Veteran's Angels of Hope, and Nanuet and Beyond.

We have heard from many friends who were taking some time during the last year and COVID restrictions to do extra house, garage, attic, and basement cleaning so we are optimistic about holding this event. This special event is held in partnership with the Nanuet School District’s Art Department. REGISTRATION AVAILABLENanuet and Beyond, a local charity, in conjunction with the Nanuet Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Paint & Sip fundraiser on Thursday evening November 14, 2019. The event will be held at the Raymour & Flanigan Outlet Center, 43 Hutton Avenue, Nanuet from 6 PM to 9 PM. (Painting will start at 6:30 PM)
